Peer Review Process
JCEP reviewers consist of civil engineering experts and researchers from various branches of science, namely, structure, geotechnical engineering, transportation, water resources, construction management, environment, urban planning, and materials who work professionally by upholding ethics and scientific publication code.
The peer-review process for JCEP is as follows:
1. Reviewers review the manuscript in accordance with their scientific fields and have the right to transfer the manuscript to other reviewers who are more competent with the approval of the Editor.
2.The process of reviewing one manuscript is carried out by at least one reviewer and the stages of the process are carried out with an E-Journal system and or correspondence.
3.The reviewer evaluates the manuscript within a maximum period of 2 (two) weeks from the receipt of the manuscript. The assessment is based on the quality of the substance of the manuscript, including:
• The suitability of the background, theories, methods, result and discussion;
• Clarity in the presentation of pictures, tables and diagrams;
• Updated library
• Data errors and originality of information;
• Evaluate the integrity of the contents of the manuscript;
• The extent of the writer's knowledge and critical thinking;
• The accuracy of the title with the entire contents of the writing.
4. If within the time period the review of the manuscript has not been completed, the reviewer must confirm to the Chief Editor of JCEP.
5. During the manuscript review process, the reviewer provides an assessment of the manuscript through a review checklist / form available on the electronic journal application. If there are obstacles, the reviewer can manually evaluate the manuscript on the review checklist form (Ms.Word format) sent by the Section Editor or Editor's Secretariat.
6. The reviewer gives the decision on the text of the review results :
- Accept Submission
- Revisions Required
- Resubmit for Review
- Resubmit Elsewhere
- Decline Submission

7. The reviewer submits the results of the review and checks the checklist with the Editorial Secretariat.
